Like primary amines, tertiary amines have an extremely wide range of applications, and can be used directly as anticorrosives, fuel oil additives, biocides, extractants for rare metals, cosmetic applications, citric acid production, polyethylene antistatic agents, polyurethane foam accelerators and coagulants, release agents for rubber production, anticaking agents, process aids, glossing agents, and odor scavengers. In addition, it can be used to produce cationic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants.
